Dear _______,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you Laoban Soundsystem's Infinite Baffle. The first open source sound system shipping container. Great for live events, Infinite Baffle consists of 32 speakers bolted onto the entrance of a standard shipping container. We want to ship this work to you for your shows and events. It would take about a month to ship anywhere in the world, and you have a great news-getter for live events in front of your favorite gallery, space, or show.
More about Infinite Baffle
Infinite Baffle is designed to fit inside any standard container regardless of its place or manufacture. Upon installation a temporary seal or gland is applied to join the two structures in order to separate the in phase and out of phase sound waves.
Within the field of audio engineering an ‘Infinite baffle’ is a speaker cabinet design in which the driver unit is completely enclosed, or cut off from the surrounding space. The length of the container tunes the output, therefore the unique space of each container will determine the baffle's sonic range. The audio fidelity of this device is raw. Shipping containers were designed to keep out the elements and thieves, prior to containerisation in 1968 nearly one 3rd of all goods were ‘lifted,' lost, or stolen in transit.
